We want you to be satisfied with every order. This policy applies to purchases made on bricklinesa.co.za and is read together with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA).
Cooling-off period (online purchases)
Under section 44 of ECTA you may cancel an online order within 7 days of delivery without giving a reason. Goods must be unused, in their original packaging and in a resaleable condition. The cost of returning the goods is for your account and the purchase price is refunded within 30 days of cancellation. This cooling-off right does not apply to goods made or cut to your specification, or to bulk building materials that have been delivered to site and offloaded (such as sand, stone, bricks and cement) where unloading has altered their condition.
Defective or incorrect goods
If an item is damaged, defective or not what you ordered, contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will collect or arrange return of the goods at our cost and, at your choice, replace the item, repair it or refund you in full, as provided for in section 56 of the CPA. Manufacturer warranties on tools and appliances apply in addition to these rights.
Change of mind
Outside the cooling-off period we may accept returns of unused, unopened stock items within 14 days of delivery at our discretion, less any delivery costs and a handling fee of up to 15%. Special orders, cut timber, mixed paint and goods sold per order are not returnable.
Cross-border orders
Your rights for defective or incorrect goods are the same for cross-border orders: we arrange and pay for the return. For change-of-mind returns from outside South Africa, return freight and any import or export charges are for your account, and import duties already paid in your country are not refundable by us.
How to return
- Email or WhatsApp with your order number and photos where relevant.
- We confirm the return and arrange collection or give you the return address.
- Once the goods are received and checked, the refund is paid to the original payment method within 10 working days.
Cancellations before dispatch
Orders can be cancelled for a full refund at any time before dispatch. Contact us with your order number.
